Wow, it’s been a really exciting year one for everybody at Hugosave, which includes all #HugoHeroes and partners! We have come a long way from our founders developing ideas and concepts, to having a functional and powerful app used by almost 50,000 #HugoHeroes now. We are elated to be part of your journey and helping you in your personal finances.
In just a short time…
The Hugosave app was launched a year ago and we’ve gone through several major milestones together as a community. Here’s a snapshot of the major milestones thus far:

Launch of the Hugosave app
Launching the app was only the tip of the iceberg. In the months before it went live in the Google Play Store and Apple AppStore, we worked tirelessly to study your needs and how we can help you solve your financial pain-points, as well as building a thriving community so that you will get peer support too. We’re grateful that many of you have come forward to offer opinions and feedback, and to test the beta version. The result? We now have Hugosave, an app that is made by and made for you, our #HugoHeroes!
Hugosave Lite in 6 months!
Our first major pivot was when you shared with us that you needed time and confidence before going through regulatory requirements. This meant being able to try the app earlier and faster so that you can decide if you wanted to progress for more.
We implemented YAWA (You Asked, We Answered). We sprang into action to conceptualise, design and build, and launch a Lite version of Hugosave, all while ensuring it complies with regulatory requirements, within 6 months!
Major Payment Institution Licence (MPI)
The process of getting the MPI licence is incredibly stringent, and rightly so. To give you the confidence and peace of mind that we operate under sound processes with proper safeguards to your monies, we worked fast and hard with our Regulators (MAS) to ensure working processes are well in place. Obtaining this licence is a testament of the close and well-developed working relationship and effort between MAS and us.
